Not particularly helpful is he? We joined the Common Market NOT this frightful EU dinasour. Sooner we get out the better, we did Ok before we joined, and who's to say we can't repeat our success.

As a complete “outsider” and hence only from that one and only perspective, it would seem to me than in this day and age, where all and sundry are joining up in all sorts of amalgamations, takeovers, etc. the UK in this particular instance would seem to be heading in the opposite direction. Or say become “insular” again, leaving the EU and hence what I understand would be the benefit of trading partners, under the same umbrella and not having to try and resolve all the issues attached to leaving, like apparent loss of jobs, large Cos. and Banks intending to leave the City, etc.

Otherwise Associations of all types, fusions, amalgamations, mergers etc. etc. would just not make sense whatsoever in this highly globalized world.
Would certainly be interested to receive the unbiased comments from my fellow readers.

I am old enough to remember Britain down and out begging to enter the EU, and De Gaulle said no. Now they are in and they want out and they want the benefits but not the rest it is called (cherry picking ) The only thing they have going for them is Banking in London and Paris and Frankfurt want to divide that. To me Brexit is the worst mistake since Britain entered World War 1. They have nearly full employment and they need workers from mainly Eastern Europe just to pick there crops in the fields before it all rots. All the foreign Hospital workers Doctors, Nurses , lab workers are heading back to the mainland. What a circus this will be!

No one is unbiased - or truly neutral - but people have always told me how much harder things were in the old days. It seems strange now to hear them talk about how successful we were before we joined.

Poor old Mayor of Trumpton, he struggles to appear as a serious politician and flip flops alarmingly. Its regretable to have to leave but they made the Common Market into a bureaucratic monster that has held Britain back and overwhelmed it with millions of Eastern Europeans we are struggling to house and cope with.

Plus the fact that they can come to the UK for their healthcare, no wonder the NHS is struggling, it is time to start fining the drunks that every night clog up the system at A&E. A lot come to take advantage of our benefits system.

If other Europeans travel to the UK for healthcare, their own country pays for it. If they live here, they do get NHS treatment but they also pay for it through taxes, same as anyone else.

The question is why is this piece appearing in Mercopenguin, a British government propaganda organ supposedly devoted to America, South America and the “South Atlantic”?
