IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde at the conclusion of the Group of 20 (G20) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting in Buenos Aires, reiterated praise for Argentina president Mauricio Macri gradual economic policies, and called on the need for reform in the more advanced economies to ensure sustained, solid growth.     The IMF and its recession-inducing recipes has always meant bad news in Argentina.

    The most IMF-friendly governments were the ones that led Argentina to its worst crisis.

    Privatizer president Carlos Menem, a darling of both the U.S. and the IMF, and Fernando de la Rua, are but two examples.

    Now that it's returning in triumph, greeted by market-friendly Macri, the IMF is also a bad omen of times to come when the borrowing party ends.
