Mar 23rd, 2018 - 01:27 pm - Link - Report abuse +4It might have been better had that been done 36 yrs ago straight after the end of the war when the then Arg Govt was refusing to acknowledge the requests from the UK side- basically what do you want done with your fallen soldiers- buried or returned?
Back then it perhaps could have been done - and in hindsight(wonderfull thing is hindsight!) would have solved a lot of problems ever since.
But to do that know after all this time would get every country in the world against us for being so inhumane and unchristian.

Mar 23rd, 2018 - 04:53 pm - Link - Report abuse +3Chel- 36 years - and counting - since you lost the war you started. Do come up with something a bit more original that a drivel post that others have been doing for years!
Mar 23rd, 2018 - 07:02 pm - Link - Report abuse +2I disagree Islander1. There is an exact replica cemetery within Argentina, and a transfer could be done with goodwill on both sides - and with due ceremony and humanity. Not being a Christian I am, by default, unchristian.
Mar 24th, 2018 - 05:40 am - Link - Report abuse +1Allowing the Argentines to remain buried in the Falklands and now to be named is a huge political mistake by the UK and Falklands which they will live to regret.
Mar 25th, 2018 - 11:02 am - Link - Report abuse 0The Argentines have not accepted the Falkland Islands right to self determination and they will clearly use the graves for cynical political reasons.
The fallen should have been returned to Argentina where they belong and given a military burial with full honours
England will return the Malvinas within 25 years.

Mar 30th, 2018 - 04:01 am - Link - Report abuse 0The remains of the Argentine soldiers rest in that cemetery by decision of the relatives. I think that must be respected from every point of view.
