Downing Street has nominated nine new Conservative peers, including a number of former ministers, to sit in the House of Lords. Among those put forward for a peerage are former communities secretary Sir Eric Pickles and former trade and industry secretary Peter Lilley. Read full article

    Jobs for the boys...
    Sick to death of seeing politicians getting a peerage, it's not what I call outstanding service for their fellow countrymen/women...
    Plenty of folk do outstanding work for their country, but are not politicians and they never get a look in...
    It's not like these politicians have even done great work for their country...the shit state it's in...
