'Hammond in Argentina iterates Falklands self determination and calls on Macri to address inflation and labor reform'

    The Argentine view -

Argentine Foreign Minister Malcorra said that historically the Argentine position was not to acknowledge for this case in particular the “self determination of peoples”, because 'kelpers' (Falkland Islanders) are a transplanted population, not aborigine (MercoPress 10 Nov 2016).

    Is that right?

Argentina clearly has no provable right to sovereignty of the Falkland Islands!

Here's some advice for Macri. You are, like it or not, part of an implanted Spanish population. In a slight difference to British activities, that took place before you were even a state, your ancestors achieved their implantation by invasion, conquest, occupation and murder. The British South Atlantic islands avoided all those repugnant activities by being uninhabited.

You need to alter your “constitution” by removing all references, allusions or mention about your laughable Hitler-inspired “claims”. You need to alter your “education” system to remove the propaganda. You need to re-educate your population to the idea that something isn't there's just because they want it. You need to learn to refer to territories by the names chosen by the legal owners.

Finally, we propose to carry out a survey of your population, possibly around 2070. If any member of your population still thinks that our South Atlantic islands rightly belong to your country, we will still be enemies.

I think the Argentine Foreign Minister needs to study the history of Argentina .His country is largely made up of ' transplanted people, who deposed removed or slaughtered the indigenous population. There was not indigenous population of the Falklands, that make the present population the true aboriginals of the Falklands. If Argentinians replaced them, the Argentinians would be replacing an indigenous population. One shouldn't have to tell a foreign minister to go and read the history of his own country, but in this case somebody has to tell him
