Argentine president Mauricio Macri is in New York where he is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, but will also be holding a round of talks with business leaders and potential investors, plus granting interviews to key media outlets. Read full article

    Sure. Borrow money and then some more, until nobody wants to lend you a single additional dollar because you have not increased the country's repayment capacity--indeed, you have seriously reduced it.

    And when all doors are shut on your face, go to the last-resort lender to borrow still some more--this time with the stiff conditions the IMF imposes.

    Two months later, after failing to fulfill a single one of the IMF conditions, you have to go to renegotiate a different agreement.

    While doing so, Macri was dancing in NY while the people he is supposed to represent marched in the streets of Buenos Aires in preparation for a general strike.

    And Macri says all of this was the only possible way.
