Brazil’s far-right presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro has promised to continue his country's participation in the Mercosur trading bloc but says he will move it away from “ideology”.“The Mercosur has value but it was disfigured by the PT (Brazil's Workers' Party)”, Bolsonaro said at a press conference in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday. “I won’t abandon the Mercosur but it won’t continue to be guided by ideology”, he added. From the news feed: “Staff of Maní, an elite, chi-chi, oh-so-hip, cool and chic restaurant in Sao Paulo with an awesomely innovative menu, joined a leftist social media campaign against Bolsonaro on Instagram discouraging Bolsonaro's supporters from coming to their restaurant. And surprise, surprise, they found themselves empty on a Saturday night.”

The pledges/promises/propaganda from both the sides are really funny - particularly when they remain unchecked - particularly by those with blind faith:

Whatever happens, the fact will remain that this election has been tainted from its onset because the most popular candidate was put in jail to prevent him from participating.

In Argentina, president Mauricio Macri is closely watching what happens in Brazil, as his government team is divided on whether it would be better go to the October 2019 election with Cristina Fernandez being either free or imprisoned.

When we thought Latin America had finally gotten rid of the military party and their routine coup d'etats, we see them coming back in Brazil, legalized by a crooked election and helped by a diligent team of corrupt judges and lying media.

Evernote the most rabid Marxist election monitors showed that the most recent Brazilian election was free and transparent. Bolsonaro clearly won the majority of votes without any scandal of vote rigging. What you are p*ssed off about is that your Marxist-Leninist hero was disqualified for running due to Brazil's own constitution.

I get it, whenever a conservative candidate is winning, the election is then illegitimate.

When a socialist candidate is winning, it is a free and fair glorious awakening of the people.

The real world has totally nothing to do with it!

Enrique: To simply explain to you in your own ideology, Bolsonaro is a glorious hero of the proletariat! Lula is the evil corrupt thieving bourgeoisie criminal!

It's been established that the US is directing Bolsonaro's campaign, specifically Steve Bannon. Who's strategy is never to deal with factual issues while disseminating fake news. Appeal to voters emotions solely, while portraying the candidate as a victim.

REF: “US is directing Bolsonaro's campaign”:

The Home-Grown Know-How from Brazil is worth exporting to the US. The best part is that they can use the Brazilian Immigrants [illegal, of course] who legally speaking, don't even exist!

”Company That Ran Trump's Campaign Has Arrived in Brazil
Of the many controversial aspects surrounding Trump's presidential campaign, at least one has been exported to Brazil and will most likely be a part of the 2018 election.
Cambridge Analytica is a pioneering company that merges behavioral psychology with big data for political campaigns. The company arrived back in March and has been operating ever since.
The company emerged as a partner to British consulting firm SCL. In order to operate in Brazil the company teamed up with Ponte Estratégia, a targeted marketing company, leading to the creation of CA-Ponte.
The conservative trend in the company's client portfolio is no coincidence. One of the main investors behind Cambridge Analytica is billionaire Robert Mercer, who is also a Republican donor.
Trump's former chief-strategist, Steve Bannon, who served in his administration until August, was also on the administrative board of Cambridge Analytica.
