President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday urged a Franco-German push to make Europe a stronger and more confident global player that could prevent “chaos” on the world stage. Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have used a series of war anniversaries to project unity as they push back against populist and nationalist forces in Europe and Donald Trump's isolationist “America First” stance. Well, it is mildly divided isnt it? I have no problem with European Unity as long as we arent part of it as it stands. I cant ever see it being reformed to our tastes.

DT, you and Voicey need to read Yanis's book, Adults in the Room. A great account of the protectionist Kleptocracy and its methods. The interests of ordinary citizens were sacrificed to save German and French banks.

Think I saw that in a bookshop but I didn't get it. Why didn't Greece leave the EU, then? Is it because being outside the protectionist cartel is much worse than being inside it? That's kind of the point of protectionism, after all.
