US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have agreed to halt new trade tariffs for 90 days to allow for talks, the US says. The two men met in Buenos Aires after the G20 summit for their first talks since a trade war erupted this year. Read full article

Contrary to the assumption + “THE Famous Tweets”, in spite of the higher tariffs; there is an increase in the imports from China. Besides; about 4% unemployment is not a HUGE unmanageable issue in the USA.

On the other hand, what really hurts the population are the higher prices on the imported-goods from China [& vice versa].

Also the american products becoming more expensive = less competitive; due to the higher raw-material prices from China. Less Sales being = Higher Unemployment - THAT'll drive the unemployment from a comfortable 4% to a much higher %.

The situation may get even worse; as China does have several optional countries from where they can buy the products of similar [american] standards whereas, the options are limited only to very few countries [N. Korea?] from where cheap goods of the qualities acceptable to the americans; can be sourced by the USA.
