A jury in California on Monday ordered Bayer-owned Monsanto to pay more than US$2 billion damages to a couple who sued on grounds the weed killer Roundup caused their cancer, lawyers said. Read full article

    Round Up is safe if properly handled and applied. But on my, and neighboring farms, I have repeatedly seen people handling all types of poisons in the most irrational and dangerous ways possible. And no matter how much one yells at them,they keep on doing it!
    It's like cars, they are deadly unless one follows all the security requirements. The difference is that police don't go out to the farms to be sure people obey instructions and laws.

    Why shouldn't the Errant/Inefficient/Corrupt Leaders be made to pay? If not, what kind of democracy is being practiced; where the population - derectly/indirectly -pays for the elections but punishing the incompetant is complicated?
