A new body has been identified, raising the number of Argentine combatants fallen during the 1982 Falklands War who now have a name on their graves to 114, thanks to the Humanitarian Project underway. Read full article
I don't know how long it will take before it finally goes in, but there are no Argentine soldiers buried in Darwin Cemetery. Never have been. I expect this kind of shoddy reporting in the Argentine press, but not on Mercopress.
Given the Argentine predilection for naming everything to suit themselves I'm always slightly surprised that they use a British name already in use for somewhere else. A few of us have considered renaming the Argentine Military Cemetery Fish Creek Cemetery, just for the Argentine press and visitors.
After all, Think, it's nowhere near Darwin.
Verstehe Sie?
Ermmmmmmmmm......., those monolingual Engrishmen can't ge 1 (one) single foreign word
right...:
1) Mr. Roger Lorton... Why are you adressing me in Italian second person informally...?
We have never met nor are we pals..., copper...
CAPISCE... with an E..., as in Engrish...
2) Mr.FitzRoy I ...
- DARWIN aint no BRITISH word...
It is a Proto Northern Germanic one...
To this day we can say in Scandinavia...: DYR VEN meaning...: Dear (valuable) Friend”...
Very appropriate name for the final resting place of our dear Argie boys...
Don't you Think...?
3) Mr. FitzRoy II ...
Auf Deutsch fragt man... Verstehen Sie..., nicht...: Verstehe Sie” ...
Haben Sie eß verstanden...?
Es, Think, but then I doubt the schooling you may have had covered such a basic element of the German language. And Darwin was definitely British, not German or Scandinavian. It is after Charles Darwin that it is so named.
There are no Argentine soldiers buried in Darwin Cemetery, Think. And no amount of your saying otherwise will change that.
There are many Argentinean soldiers buried in the Argentinean Darwin Cemetery..., FitzRoy... And no amount of your saying otherwise will change that...
There are no Argentine soldiers buried in Darwin Cemetery. And your attempt to name it otherwise doesn't change the facts.
I appreciate that you have the desire to come across as worldly-wise and well-educated, but, on this computer at least, you just come across as a bit whiny and petulant. Keep up the good work though, you are quite entertaining.
If and when you do visit the Falklands you will find out for yourself that your Argentine habit of renaming things and places is only any good within your own country's bounds. Bless your little cotton socks.
I Think..., we are referring to two different cemeteries..., laddie...
You keep you Engrish Darwin cemetery...
We keep our Argie Darwin cemetery...
Fair deal...
I'm glad you find my posts entretaining...
More than what I can say about yours..., i'm afraid...
Too monothematic fixed on the Argie Darwin cemetery...
Not really, petal. We keep Darwin Cemetery and we keep the Argentine Military Cemetery as well. Darwin Cemetery is about a mile from Darwin, in between Darwin and Goose Green. The Argentine Military Cemetery is about five miles from Darwin at Fish Creek.
Maintenance of the Argentine Military Cemetery is conducted by the Falkland Islands Government. The bodies were buried with military honours by the British military because Argentina didn't want to either repatriate them or bury them as befits a soldier killed in war. Argentina still does nothing for her heroes, as she calls them, which is pretty reprehensible really.
I'm not here to be entertaining. I just don't like seeing Mercopress make that small error so common in the Argentine press. I don't think you start out to be entertaining, I doubt there is a humorous bone in your body, but your endless petulant whining is quite entertaining in a grown man.

Finally going in? Unlikely. Not helped when even the great God Wiki cannot get it right.
Maybe 'cause for us Argies it is Darwin...
