UK Trade secretary tells WTO conference, “Britain is back” as a sovereign nation
Britain is looking forward to “taking back control” of its trade policy after it exits the European Union later this month, a government minister told the World Trade Organization on Wednesday. Speaking at a WTO conference, International Trade Secretary Liz Truss said her country was preparing to seize “a golden opportunity.”

Brazil selling the only aircraft carrier in South America, A12 Sao Paulo
The Brazilian navy has begun auctioning off its only aircraft carrier. The attempted sale of Sao Paulo leaves the Brazilian fleet with just one aviation vessel, the helicopter carrier Atlantico. And it effectively strands the navy’s small fleet of carrier-compatible Skyhawk fighters.

Attack on synagogue in Germany killing two people live-streamed on Twitch
An anti-Semitic attack that killed at least two people in the German city of Halle on Wednesday was streamed live for 35 minutes, and eventually seen by around 2,200 people, the online platform Twitch said.

Brazil will reopen its Antarctica base Comandante Ferraz next January
The Brazilian Navy will inaugurate its new 4,500 m² Comandante Ferraz Antarctic Station (EACF) in January 2020, the head of the Navy Programs Management Directorate (DGePM), Vice Admiral Petronio Augusto Siqueira de Aguiar, said earlier this month.
