President Alberto Fernandez is revealing amazing stature as head of the Argentine state, acting with amazing sense of balance and independence in relation to outside powers.

He's got the possibility of leading the country to an entirely new position, once he resolves the financial mess left by the now happily gone previous government.

It does seem different to the CFK years. Saying they don't want to be outside the world,  going first to visit European countries. Even PGerman should be happy. ;)

It's also pragmatic. The pink tide has receded and Argentina is out of step with most of the neighbouring countries that have swung to the right. Argentina did that earlier and is now going back the other way, it remains to be seen if other countries will follow.

I agree. Until now, Alberto has successfully avoided being labelled by the most rabid opponents and mainstream media, and while some are disappointed for his lack of more aggressive steps, he is threading lightly as negotiations with the IMF take place. We have to remember that he won the elections with support from a front -- not a party alone.
