Argentina's GDP contracted 2.2% last year, hit by the downfall of manufacturing, retail and financial activities, according to the official stats office, Indec. Beyond the results, however, the citizens now feel the president is in charge and working hard to control the virus' transmission while mitigating the economic effects of the crisis on the most vulnerable sectors. They shudder at the thought of what may have happened if Macri, popularly known as deck chair for his taking of frequent holiday breaks during his term, had still been at the rudder.
Surely they could do better than that? Now, 20% down would be impressive! ;)
