Thousands of protesters in cities around the world have gathered over the past days in support of Poles who have taken to the streets after a court ruling further limited the country's restrictive abortion laws. Read full article

How have you been? Me and family are okay, the baby is just learning to crawl. They change so fast!
We haven't moved again but did finally manage to sell the old house - and bought some champagne to celebrate being solvent again.
On the downside the Coronavirus is getting worse again as we head into winter, and Boris is planning another lockdown. :( Seems neverending.
Re the Notorious RBG, unfortunately death comes to us all.
Is Jack Bauer still here? I wanted to see what he thought of 'Verdevaldo' resigning from his own news site after they censored his article on Joe Biden. I distinctly remember saying Greenwald was a free speech hardliner, and not just reporting on the vaza jato for partisan reasons.
Your daughter now is in the delightful terror of discovery! Very pleased to hear about her progress. Even when you don't suspect — the little ones are quickly absorbing information.
RBG was properly honored for her contributions — but her replacement is perfect. (My earlier argument was the USA judicial system was swinging conservative and it now has.)
Congratulations on the sale — I hope you find a better home for your family.
Regarding COVID19 — we have been very fortunate here in Chile. People we know infected have had a minimal symptoms (or none at all such as myself, Madame and my youngest daughter) and of which none of our permanent 62 employees have tested positive. Although THINK strong agrees — personally I think Sweden has taken the correct strategy.
Jack has not been active lately — but I assume he'll soon return to the forum.
You may be surprised — but I have considered Glenn Greenwald's reporting to be interesting — even when I disagreed with his liberal viewpoint. His resigning from 'The Intercept' was due to his integrity and dedication to honest journalism.
As far as an update: We successfully enjoyed an excellent ski season at an adjoining resort to Valle Nevado — completely finished the farmhouse (although the old great-room is unfurnished) — our newly planted table-grape vineyards are all now with healthy vigorous green foliage.
Our other crops are in a phenomenal situation — but Mother Nature can be a bitch.
Our latest project is a complete renovation of the barn — including two guest toilets and a large separate workroom for Madame's ceramic hobby. We've carefully removed the roof — setting the delicate tiles aside for reinstalling. (It rarely rains here in Chile.)
If you may remember — we were forced to cut down the two diseased 19th century walnuts and we're still waiting the milled planks arrival this late afternoon.
Tonight we're planning to feast upon lots of garlic butter sautéd asparagus.
It's a scary time when we have to start baby-proofing the house and avoid leaving thing around. Today she managed to reach my glass of water on a table and knock it over, I had no idea she could reach so far.
ACB sounds perfectly terrible, which I guess is what you wanted. Now the Ds are planning to expand the court, another step in the dismantling of American democracy.
GG *is* interesting, many liberals dislike him too - for not supporting Hillary or being properly on their side. These are the kind of 'liberals' who support authoritarian measures to suppress any ideas they don't like, though, so I doubt GG is too cut up about it. But they have a lot of influence on tech firms.
What happened to Think while I've been away? He's now as foul mouthed as Terry, and acting very nearly as stupid; accusing people of imaginary shit is supposed to be Terry's shtick.
Glad to hear your renovations went well and your family hasn't suffered too much with the Covid. Our government seems determined to leave all their reactions until it is too late and they have to clamp down twice as hard.
We had sausages and jacket potatoes for tea. Seemed appropriate for Halloween. Unfortunately they'd sold out of pumpkins by the time I tried to get some. It's a shame, we've carved some really cool ones in the past.
Tonight I ate nothing other than the asparagus which Madame took 10 minutes to prepare. We pulled a cork of a Santa Rita '04 Casa Real Merlot which was smoothly mellow.
I need to alter an autocorrect mistyping from my last post ...THINK strongly disagrees... also ...rains here in SUMMER...
The planks arrived at the final rays of daylight so we couldn't fully appreciate their beauty — but the wood-grain is stunning. An educated estimate is the two entrance walnuts were planted circa 1870-80.
We had the trunks and large branches shipped to a mill in Curico — who outsourced the actual milling to a specialist in Talca.
Both trees were suffering by internal rot in areas that formed amazing patterns. The milled lumber was then kiln dried to about 9% humidity and then shipped all the way back to Panquehue.
We have a lot of very expensive wood to chose from — but the primary protect will be to have a very large table made for the old great-room. Instead of eliminating the virus cavities — we plan to use clear epoxy fill.
Madame was surprised by the light wood color. I told her it was her decision on the stain — so she'll probably take weeks to decide the stain and design. The wood is now stacked on the covered garden terrace — with several planks strewn on the great-room floor
I haven't noticed much change in THINK — who remains credibly to his beliefs of which I sometimes agree.
Frankly the Democrat Party isn't acting rationally — they chose a terrible candidate who's nearly senile — against a television personality.
Madame Defarge is currently furious as I absolutely will not allow for a service doorway to be cut into the barn adobe wall — because of structural complications. (The walls are over a meter in average width and the guests from the garden will just have to go around to the old back entry way.)

Best to ask the one of those you're trying to suck up too, he's the one that is in the country that practices such activities. Apparently it's connected to his military service, as he cannot talk about the military without such a reference.
Thats right, wrap your lips around it, and keep on sucking.
I also had a merlot last night, but probably a much inferior one. I'd be jealous of your dry summers, except that it means you have to irrigate everything. How convenient it is for farmers - and gardeners - when the water falls out of the sky for free!
Did one of your ancestors plant the trees? It's a shame you had to cut them down, but cool that you have the wood to use. There're some interesting projects on YouTube with wood and resin, eg https://youtu.be/nvga5aQBFkA - maybe you could try doing a coffee table or something.
You could upload some before and after photos of your renovations if it wouldn’t be too identifying. I'd like to see after hearing so much about them.
Re Biden, I have no idea what the Democrats are thinking. We'll know the winner soon enough, but either way the US has big problems. How can a country function when half the people hate the other half more than any external enemy, and vice versa?

There you go again, with your potty mouth diatribe, starting on people for absolutely no reason. Manners Tel, bad manners if nothing else, just because you are all bitter and twisted not everyone else is.
You see Tel, some people on here have “nice conversations”, swap stories and experiences with witty banter, political comment and discussions. Sometimes very educational just reading them.
Not you Tel, not you, as JB observed:
“personal attacks, silly quotes in Latin (which he doesn't have a clue to what they mean) and French phrases (such as “au contraire”), which he can't even spell properly....not to mention the mess he managed to make of the expression in English, as well...“on contrary”.
How about you try being nice, make a contribution to the conversation for once.
Or, could you not just crawl away and hide somewhere, don’t forget the shadows you shout at are still behind you.
Manners maketh Man and as we take the high road — don't alłow a snarling sewer rodent to distract you...
It's an absolutely beautiful day. I've just returned to the house and Madame has announced le déjeuner will be cold roast beef sandwiches on fresh sourdough bread and lemonaide.
If it were not for the Andean snow-melt and irrigation — our part of Chile would be a desert. Modern irrigation took a giant leap when my country adapted to drip irrigation and my father was fortunate to meet a delegation from Israel and my family has maintained a strong relationship with the Israeli agricultural community.
Our original farm property was owned by a wealthy family that used the land to grow alfalfa to be shipped to their nitrate mining operations in Arica where they used mules to power much of the equipment. During the transition to machinery — they sold the farm to my grandfather — which my great-grandfather gifted the purchase as a wedding gift.
My grandparents moved to the former farm manager's house shortly after World War I and our family grew field crops with a large vineyard for producing Aguardiente until the Allende land reform — which left us with a small portion of the farmland. (The two walnut trees and the farmhouse were part of what we retained.)
My oldest daughter has been creating an Instagram page on the farmhouse renovation — that when she finishes I'll share the link.
I was in favor of Evo Morales being removed from office as he had rigged the system — but I also support the Bolivians to democratically elect their legitimate leader. It's their choice to die upon the sword of socialism — as long as they stay away from my homeland.
I've experienced actual civil war and the Americans are far away from that situation — but either the media is all distorted — or they've completely missed the zeitgeist of the majority of Americans.
Regarding all the wood — we could start a furniture manufacturing facility!

Madame has selected the long plank of walnut unaffected by cavities as she's become enamored with the beautiful swirls and natures pattern in the grain. Our primary project is an enormously long table to fill the great-room with a very light tone.
Once the design is determined — we're sending the selected prices to an artisan to craft what is a part of my family's heritage.
Our late evening meal is a roasted chicken breast and avocado Romaine salad dressed with a lemon garlic aioli sauce. ( I suggested asparagus — but ma mariée gave a sharp glance in disapproval.)
Madame did surprise me with selecting a Casa Marín Casona Gewürztraminer that we've never tried — we'll discover when the sun sets...

Also — the lettuce was not Romaine — but instead the Little Gem Butter Romaine that Madame selected. Really a great seed variety!
We came up with a Christmas present idea tonight — for our family relations that were distressed with the sad felling of our iconic walnut trees: kitchen cutting boards with a card explaining the precidence.

Well, other people do have “nice conversations” on here. You don’t because no one will talk to you.
Because of your potty mouth personal attacks and attempts at insults, nothing to contribute just more Blither.
So you get abused in return and bitch slapped around, sometime for an entire thread, remember this one:
Your retorts are feeble at best, mostly laughable and sometimes really quite disturbing.
Remember your lurid description of Brazilian toilets/toilet habits (you never having been there), well quelle surprise no one wants to talk to you, they just ridicule you.
I have told you before, try being nice, people still might not like you but you might not get all the ridicule and derision that humiliates you so much.
Just try and post something without trying to insult someone, if you can?
Interesting you mention the snarling sewer rat's anal fixations about toilets...
I just posted on the jet fighter thread about my current challenge regarding sewer pipe and a background of our family farm.
This morning Madame traced out in the barn dirt floor — the floor plan of the two guest toilets and her large pottery workshop. (She's ambitiously planned to design, decorate and fire the guest bathroom tiles herself.)
The workmen will have carefully removed all the barn roof tiles by tomorrow. I need now how to literally drill a hole through a two meter underground stone foundation — which I've concluded will cost me dearly.
Today's le déjeuner was bacon - lettuce - tomato - avocado sandwiches on toasted sourdough that were outstanding due to the ingredients. The bacon is locally smoked here in our community and the lettuce is a wonderful variety — what I earlier erroneously described as a butter romaine hybrid which we are now just harvesting for the first time. (The actual correct variety name is Buttercrunch)
We actually already have two young English walnut (grafted to black walnut rootstock) as well as two pecan and nine almond trees that were planted in the 1980's. We are planning to plant two pistachio trees where the ancient walnuts were located. (It takes about 7 years to see the first pistachio crop.)
Our grapes are growing rapidly by the day. Most bunches are now 11-15cm long with berries averaging 3mm in diameter. During the next two weeks we'll thin the number of bunches per vine — and our newly planted vineyards completely eliminate all their bunches for the coming couple of seasons to promote vigor.
Madame has made her amazing pink-lemonade that has kept me refreshed during this warm beautiful Spring day.
(By the way — I believe Trump will provide me with a bounty of wine this week.)
And you Pugol? How are you doing with the current shutdown there? Stay well!
Chicureo Pervert, Psychological Transferee, Malignant Narcissist, Criminal Libeller, & Spam King
Interesting you mention the champion of “Comment removed by the editor.” Says it all.
So babel on little brooke, you must be on your third bottle by now.
No proof, no truth.
Yes, we are well thank you for asking. Shutdown again Thursday for one month, although most people will still be working and schools open this time, lock down light almost.
Maybe with good behaviour, out in time for Christmas, then another wave in Jan/Feb no doubt.
I trust you will be secure in you Mountain fastness, with your Cordon Blue stock of food and mentioned in the Michelin guide wine cellar.
As for TurdMan BogFetish, probably going to ignore him for the time being or just short answers, not much left to take this piss out of really, where he is concerned.
Terry No Mates trying desperately to get attention again.
Although some of his reposts (if you can call them that) are quite hilarious especially when he has been wound up, JB is the expert at that.
Stay safe Compadre, y Saludos de Colonia Nervia Glevensium.

Shine on Tel, shine on.

Stay well!

So babel on little brooke, you must be on your third bottle by now.
No proof, no truth.

Whether Trump or Biden wins — my market will continue to see signifigant growth.
Avocados are nature's superfood and our table grapes are the desserts of heaven.

Nov 03rd, 2020 - 05:22 pm - Link - Report abuse -1Yes, we are well thank you for asking.
