My youngest daughter and I visited with the last harvest crew in the vineyards before returning to delicious omelette with a dollop of chèvre with a large perfect café latte.

We harvested some beautiful mini romaine lettuce and handfuls of basil which will be incorporated into today’s le déjeuner with grilled salmon with lemon pepper accompanied with sweet corn and tomatoes.
We’re planning to decamp before the end of this month although ma mariée will go earlier to prepare our pied-a-terre fully-ready for making it our primary gypsy camp.
Reading the news, it was interesting to notice about the brutal polar vortex that has settled over Canada and created the coldest Canadian temperatures in years — and in some cases, record-breaking cold that was reported by a handful of weather stations.
(It was so chilly that even the most sophisticated satellites were perplexed and caused them to pick up the ground and mark it as freezing cloud-tops.)
I assume the temperatures Teresa is fantasizing about are the indoor temperatures of her mother’s home with the furnace working full time to heat his mother’s Canadian house.
You both know that we enjoy the snow so much we bought an apartment in Valle Nevado — but to live there would be miserable.

No one is forcing Teresa to endure my culinary enjoyment of a perfect healthy meal al fresco on our garden terrace. (Unlike Canada’s miserable winter weather — today’s high will rise to about 20°c [69°f] with beautiful a clear blue sky here in the Aconcagua Valley.)
If Teresa finds happiness with her microwaveable frozen commercially prepared food while glued to her 350+ TV channels in her mother’s Canadian basement — it’s her miserable life.

It’s also pleasing that our son and his family are joining us for the weekend. They were planning to use the apartment below our pied-a-terre in Viña — but they feel far more free here with no restrictions.
We spent a pleasant time working in our family garden and realized we’ll have a lot of produce to freeze and process — including freezing pre-blanched corn on-the-cob.
Obviously we’ll again process a lot of tomatoes again this season.
As I mentioned ma mariée brought several special treats — she’s planned a seafood style evening meal including sea urchins and frozen Chilean King Crab accompanied with chilled champenoise.
(Tonight the nighttime low is forecasted a pleasant 15°c [59°f] as we’re close to the ocean.)
It’s amusing that Teresa continues weaving more ridiculous lies in to her sordid filthy mother’s basement — while pathetically denying her Canadian residence.
Let’s review a few of the facts established by Teresa:
1. She resides in the “lower level” of her mother’s home in Canada.
2. She extolled drinking her own urine (in 2015) saying it was healthful.
3. She and Jack debated about her falsely claiming to visit Brazil.
4. She was actually boasting to Jack about her attachment to Long Dong Silver.
5. She’s weirdly triggered by filthy toilet paper.
6. She’s a well proven liar about serving in the RAF during the Cuba Missile Crisis.
7. Apparently she’s transitioned herself to another sexual gender.
8. She’s clearly identified herself as a closet alcoholic.
9. She’s unemployed and has access to over 350 television channels.
10. Her favorite cuisine is prepared in her mother’s microwave.
There are far more silly subjects — but I’m just amazed she continues.

Avocados grown from seed are enjoyable for watching them sprout into trees. Probably the variety of avocado you’ve sprouted — will probably not grow true to the parent, particularly if it has been grafted to another rootstock, which is common in commercial avocados.
We export exclusively Hass variety which we just finished harvesting, but there are a number of delicious varieties. With the exception of a small vineyard — our entire harvest is now over for the season.
Today we’ve been busy with part of our family enjoying an asado in our garden quincho as the weather continues to be spectacular.
We’re planning to decamp by the end of next week to our pied-a-terre in Viña Del Mar. (“Chicureo” is a suburb of Santiago where we maintain our primary residence.)
Fascinating just how different the wonderful Summer weather we enjoy here in Chile — compares to the unfortunate current Winter in Canada.

The nectarines right now are extraordinary and the grapes we’re harvesting are delicious for our grandchildren.

I have fond memories of my year working in Chile and your region is perhaps nicer than California for the simple reason that it is practically devoid of Californians, kkkk. Righ now I am on a 150+ year old fazenda of a friend in the interior of Paraiba and last night we enjoyed a fine churrasco of carneiro, liberally washed down with aged cachaça. You would enjoy it here as well.

I spent several months in 2007-08 consulting on a large irrigation project of vineyards in the Petrolina - São Francisco Valley area and enjoyed my time there immensely — despite all the challenges.
Actually Californians here may be few, but their impact on our region was substancial as many of them saw our potential not only in wine — but also our fruit export business.
I’ve developed a great admiration of the agricultural development in North county San Diego and the San Joaquin Valley.

We too have suffered a surprising drop in temperatures down all the way to 22°c (72°f) which has me to decide to grill a thick succulent sirloin with a fresh garden Beefsteak tomato for a late afternoon meal to accompany a two decades old Merlot.
