Belgian station in Antarctica hit by COVID-19 infections

Although Project Manager Joseph Cheek said the situation was “not dramatic,” at least 16 of the 25 workers at Belgium's Princess Elisabeth polar station have tested positive for COVID-19 and the whole staff will remain isolated until Jan. 12, it was reported.

Nobody hurt as South Africa's Parliament burns

South Africa's Parliament building in Cape Town was severely deteriorated by a huge fire Sunday. Although nobody has been reported injured, the event has sparked national security concerns. A suspect has been arrested. Firefighters worked for hours to extinguish the blaze.

US Congresswoman has Twitter account banned permanently

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene Sunday had her personal Twitter account canceled permanently for postings deemed untrue regarding COVID-19. “We have permanently suspended the account for repeated violations of our Covid-19 disinformation policy,” the company noted.
