“… they would consider the violation of a treaty no greater offence than a lie told by schoolboy. With ... these people if a temporary advantage could be gained they would violate a treaty on the day of its ratification.”

You know what? BE ACCOUNTABLE AND HONORING WITH RESPECT ALL NATIONS EQUALLY.
You assume your -- real -- “self determination” when you decide to want to talk about the matter of the dispute and resolve once and for all this ridiculously ongoing conflict. Then you can see you are acting and continuing on your “self determination”. Self determination is not about “I just want what I want and don't care about anyone else” Is? Grow up you royally spoiled insolent babies.

They do not need an air link, they can fly from the United Kingdom 12,000 km away or from the Ascencion Islands: D

Trimonde, Trymong, whatever you want to be called. You're the country disputing the right to self-determination of Falkland Islanders, why not take your dispute to the ICJ? Why has Argentina not done so? What's holding her back? In the past Argentina has leapt at the opportunity to engage through the International Courts. Why the reticence to take your facile claim there? We know what “self-determination” means. Apparently, you don't. We also know what a treaty is, and an agreement, both of which Argentina has signed, none of which have been honoured. Which is only to be expected.
