Argentine Central Bank's (BCRA) monthly Relevamiento de Expectativas de Mercado (Market Expectancy Survey - REM) report for May released Friday forecasted inflation by the end of this year to reach 148.9%, 22.5 percentage points (p.p.) higher than the previous projection, it was announced in Buenos Aires.     ‘interannual inflation for the next 12 months is expected to reach 171.1%’!!!

    How do people survive that???

    No wonder everyone wants to keep Dollars down there, or go live in Miami.

    Brazilians dealt with it in the 80's, but it was not pretty. It keeps the poor from rising, destroys the middle class, but leaves the rich, by and large, unscathed. Inflation is one of the most insidious forms of indirect taxation that impoverished nations. Brought on by poor and irresponsible government, one must, regrettably, say, “cry for yourself, Argentina”

    The operative words are “dealt with it.” The peronists are in it for the loot, and an impoverished populace is in their minds easier to control, making it easier to continue looting...
