    Wind-chill temperatures in Rio de Janeiro reached 58°C Saturday before a storm broke out, leaving eight people missing following a shipwreck off Guanabara Bay. It was the highest temperature since 2009 when wind-chill measurements started to be taken. By Sunday the temperature dropped to 41.1 °C amid a strong storm. The boat capsized at sea off Paquetá Island in the middle of the storm.

Rescue teams were searching for people trapped under the rubble. Humanitarian aid was reported on its way from various parts of the world. There were a total of 22 aftershocks, some of them strong.

    BCRA's REM report forecasts 2023 inflation in Argentina will reach 97.6%

    The new inflationary projections would mean a 0.8% improvement from 2022's figures but still one of the worst in the world

    With a Consumer Price Index (CPI) for January 2023 expected at 5.6%, Argentina's Central Bank (BCRA) issued a report Friday forecasting that inflation for the entire year would be 97.6% while the country's Gross Domestic Product (the sum of all services and goods traded) will only grow by 0.5%.
