One of the attractions when visiting the Falkland Islands' capital Stanley City is the Whalebone Arch, adjacent to the cathedral, the southernmost Anglican cathedral in the world. Locals, tourists and cruise visitors love to enjoy and picture the impressive mandibles of blue whales in the arch, but not many are aware it was erected in 1933, to commemorate the centenary of continuous British administration in the Falklands. The land and garden that forms the Arch Green (formerly Cathedral Green) was given by the Falkland Islands Company to the Falkland Islands Government for the leisure of the people of Stanley, and enjoyment of visitors. It's good that they built that arch in 1933 to commemorate 100 years of British administration.

Which indicates that they never had a previous administration on the eastern island, and that they expelled the Argentine administration that had been in Port Louis since 1820 and its inhabitants.

Why do you persist with these lies . . you know very well that no inhabitants were evicted, only the illegal military, who had raped and murdered, the inhabitants were a multi national business venture led by a German and a Brit, nothing to do with Buenos Aires, a small number chose to leave voluntary some stayed, but you know this already and yet continue to spew the lies, what do you think you are achieving, the answer is nothing, 200 years have passed, whether you like it or not the matter is settled, there is nothing Argentina can do about it not now, not in 10 years not in 50 years not ever, technology will ensure that, go and get a life and stop wasting it on a lie a myth and a fantasy,

200 years? British made it very clear.. 60 years of silence and null precense at east island (where was port louis) was not enought to archiving..

We will keep open our claim, passing the torch to future generations.. we dont need do nathing.. we already dont have the posession since 1833 we had nathing to lose and dont lost nathing keeping our Claim Open to our future generations.
We just leave the box open, waiting for any geopolitical change, balance of forces, or defensive slip. History is cyclical and opportunities will always present themselves.when, we don't know, we just know that windows of opportunity appear and keeping the claim open guarantees it

Once gain Cit, spouting the same old garbage. Britain claimed the islands long be fore you existed. and yes Britain was the first to claim them, not Spain, not France,

only deluded fanatics like yourself want to keep the so called claim open, one day you might grow up as a country, normal Argentines are more interested in providing for their families.

we will wait for any geopolitical change balance of forces or defensive slip . what geo change ? technology will have advanced so far in to any thing we cant imagine,

weapons systems will wipe out any naval threat long before it gets any where near the islands, the same with any future air force you may have, their will be no defensive slip ever again, history has shown you can not be trusted, as for your geo political change, the rest of the civilised world will not support you, they are sick to death of your crying, the matter is settled, and in the future the Falklands will be a thriving independent country, and that is a FACT, cut the BS and go to the ICJ, you have become so boring with the same old nonsense, must be the 20th time of copying and pasting, your pathetic claim guarantees nothing, once fanatics like you have popped your clogs your bogus claim will fade,

That is how stupid you are, any future attempt at a military take over of the Falklands would be devastating, (your own Kirchnerites have said they will never do it ) are they lying ? like they do about everything, the rest of Latin America will never fight a war for you, NOT EVER ,they dont even like Argentina, and neither will China, you live in a dream world , British technology will not stand still, it would take 30 years for you to reach this level now, but meanwhile British technology would have advanced even further, you would be obliterated, the Falklands will be an sovereign state in the future, with full protection from the UN, this crazy deluded fantasy world you live in does you no favours, you have gone from a half decent debater to a fantasist troll, the matter is settled, end of story,

We will fight for ourselves, like in '82

“That is how stupid you are, any future attempt at a military take over of the Falklands would be devastating”

They said the same thing 40 years ago... however they had many material losses, for more than 20 billion pounds.
We lost the war, as was logical, we knew before starting it that we were against a superior power.
We did it because we are convinced of our claim to sovereignty... and we will do it again.
Wars are not fought just to win... they are fought because of the conviction of the history that a party had.
It is a question of the convictions and values in which one believes. The fact that a war has a good chance of being lost does not mean that it should not be fought and immolated, generating massive material and civilian damage...

We do not accept the historical interpretation that the United Kingdom
unilaterally makes on the sovereignty of the islands.
We do not accept in any way the act of force of 1833.
We consider that there was an expulsion of a civil settlement that had been developing since 1820 on the easten island, and that the United Kingdom never had or developed a title over the eastern island where Port Louis was located.

Dont waste your time Juan debating with this clown, his posts are pure fantasy and not based on reality and fact,
you will fight like you did in 82, what like your navy ran off back to port scared of being destroyed, your air force that vastly outnumbered the RAF and RN Harriers but were taken to the cleaners, your soldiers that outnumbered the Brits 3 or 4 to 1 and were petrified and just wanted to go home,
the Islanders or Britain do not care whether you accept the UKs FACTUAL history of the Falklands, it is irrelevant, and we do not accept your lies about 1833, this expulsion of an civilian settlement is the biggest lie of all,

    Argy Planter
The Argentine military is not really capable of operating inside Argentina, never mind the S. Atlantic, even if it was unoccupied and ‘terra nullius’, lol.

The British forces currently deployed are sufficient to maintain control and protect the territorial integrity of the British Territories in the S. Atlantic/Antarctic.

If in the future Argentina improves its military capabilities, then the size and capabilities of the British forces in the region will be increased.

Keeping Argentina inside its 200nml limit and out of the S. Atlantic/Antarctic.

That you do not accept the facts of history or reality on the ground today is abundantly clear, however that is your problem and of no concern to us.

“They expelled the Argentine administration that had been in Port Louis since 1820”

That is a complete lie. The logs of the SS Sarandi prove it to be a lie.

Two ships left Port Louis on January 6th 1833. The Sarandi and the Rapid. They were planning to leave BEFORE Captain Onslow arrived.

Pinedo states in his log that all civilians who travelled had already requested safe exit from the islands as many spoke how Vernet had lied to them about living conditions.

The militia and prisoners who arrived in October 1832 had requested to return to Argentina and despite the fact they were guilty of mutiny, murder and rape, Pinedo had refused to take them.

It is these people and these people only that Onslow ordered Pinedo to remove, everyone else was leaving anyway.

This is not opinion, it is historic fact verifiable if you read Pinedo logs in Buenos Aires.

So, no eviction of Argentine authorities which had been in Port Louis since 1820. Just the militia (20 or so) who had been there 10 weeks and were guilty of mutiny and murder.

    Argentine zit (Tobias)

You make yourself look foolish repeating the same lie. Quite simply, the people you are claiming were evicted arrived in 1828 (not 1820), and the majority left by choice in 1831. A few stragglers chose to leave with Pinedo and 22 remained.

Of the 22, the leader was British William Dickson.

As we have established, nobody who was of that community was evicted, nobody was refused return.

You would need to show that the 21 had British sovereignty forced on them against their will, and that they suffered hardship because of it.

    Quite simply they did not.
