Like I said in another thread, he's kicked this into the long grass so he doesn't have to be embarrassed on the world stage by trying to pursue the ridiculous claim. It would be political suicide for him to withdraw the claim so this is his best option. It is the best that can be reasonably be expected.
Unlike the Argentine troops who surrendered, fascism never surrenders. You can make it return to the sewer it came from, but never completely destroy it.
After a fascist regime installs itself in a country, corrupts its institutions and enters into symbiosis with the National State, nothing holds it back.
