    According to a Usina de Percepción Ciudadana survey released this week in Montevideo, opposition candidate Yamandú Orsi of the Broad Front (Frente Amplio - FA) would defeat Álvaro Delgado of the ruling Multicolor coalition by 6 percentage points. In case of a runoff, Orsi is expected to garner 50% of the vote, the study found between September 27 and 30 from a sample of 500 people.

    Brazil postpones rescue mission in Lebanon

    Operation Cedar Roots has been postponed due to unsafe conditions reaching Beirut's International Airport by land for the some 220 Brazilians stranded in war-torn Lebanon, Agencia Brasil reported Friday. According to the latest update, the FAB aircraft is now scheduled to take off Saturday from Lisbon, Portugal, to the Lebanese capital.

    Falklands: Defense contract for runway repairs at Mount Pleasant Complex

    The Defense Infrastructure Organization (DIO) has awarded a contract to Mitie to carry out runway repairs at Mount Pleasant Complex, the RAF airfield in the Falkland Islands. The work will be undertaken by Dyer and Butler, who also completed the resurfacing of the site’s Alpha Loop taxiway earlier this year.
