Falklands longliner rescue operation: all crew members safe in located life rafts

The Falkland Islands Maritime Authority reported early Tuesday morning that longliner Argos Georgia had been lost but fortunately, all 27 crew members were able to take to life rafts, and the rescue operation is now surface-centered in recovering the dispersed rafts in extreme weather conditions but with overwatch coverage.

Harris secures enough party delegates to win nomination

US Vice President Kamala Harris Monday looked certain she would be picking up the baton from Joseph Biden as the Democratic Party's nominee por the Nov. 5 presidential elections where she would be taking on former President Donald Trump on behalf of the Republicans and “independent” runner Robert F. Uruguayan FM hopes Venezuela holds peaceful elections

In the week prior to Venezuela's elections, Uruguayan Foreign Minister Omar Paganini insisted that “it is time to defend democracy” in that country so “that the people can freely choose their government.” He also called for the process to be held “in peace” and hoped that the votes would be “counted with transparency.” After that, he wished the outcome would be accepted by all those involved.

Falklands major operation to rescue longliner FV Argos Georgia some 200 miles east of Stanley

A major rescue operation is underway to the east of the Falkland Islands to help a fishing vessel in distress. On Monday afternoon the Falkland Islands Maritime Authority received information that the fishing vessel Argos Georgia, with 27 persons onboard, was taking on water and requesting assistance some 200 miles east of Stanley.
