Reports on ISIS' presence in Uruguay an old story

A Spanish outlet highlighted that the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS) had resurfaced in Uruguay and was planning to spread throughout the continent. However, the Ministry of the Interior in Montevideo said the video that went viral and on which those reports were based was old and that its author had already been placed in custody.

Lula welcomes Portugal's President and Prime Minister in Brazil

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva welcomed Portugal's Heads of State and Government Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Prime Minister Luís Montenegro respectively, to launch a series of bilateral vents to take place in the South American country. The Free Trade Agreement between Mercosur and the European Union (EU) will also be on the agenda. The Workers' Party leader had been to Portugal in 2023.

Footage of Milei's interview twitched released

Video footage of an advisor - believed to be Santiago Caputo - cutting President Javier Milei's interview with Jonatan Viale to have some inconvenient parts removed was leaked through X late Monday. “It can cause you a judicial mess,” Viale admits as he agrees to the interruption while the head of State sought to explain his side of the $LIBRA cryptocurrency scandal on TN in a friendly environment. The controversial part of the interview was aired live through YouTube.

Record-high temperatures hit Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro City authorities Monday recorded a temperature of 44ºC, the highest on the Rio Alert System files since 2014, and with no rain forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Temperatures are thus expected to be above 40°C with moderate winds on Tuesday afternoon while dropping slightly in the coming days.

A Korean news site has published an interesting article on Penguin Eggs, and its nutritional virtues, which it describes as “once vital for Antarctic Explorers”, and we might add decades ago, part of Falkland Islanders diet, but which are now illegal to consume and penguins very much protected and loved.

Seabourn Venture stabilizers system forces a change of itinerary, possibly two extra days in Falklands

Cruise Travel in its NewsBreak has reported that a luxury expedition ship currently sailing in Antarctica, has been forced to revise its itinerary due to unexpected problems with its stabilizers. Accordingly, Seabourn Venture's stabilizer system, designed to minimize ship movement in rough seas, has been deemed inoperable by Seabourn’s technical team.
