Uruguayan exports grow 3.5% interannually

A report released by the Uruguay XXI Institute this week in Montevideo showed that the South American country's exports in August 2025 totaled US$1.327 billion, a 3.5% yoy increase. Sales abroad in the first eight months of the year reached US$9 billion, a 5.4% interannual growth.

Uruguay: PepsiCo opens new storage plant in Colonia complex

Uruguayan President Yamandú Orsi participated on Tuesday in the inauguration of a new PepsiCo beverage concentrate storage plant in the Colonia free-trade zone after an investment of over US$100 million. Brazilian health officials urge people to update Covid-19 vaccination

According to the latest InfoGripe Bulletin from the Rio de Janeiro-based Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), there has been an increase in cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) due to Covid-19 in four Brazilian states: Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, Amazonas, and Paraíba. While the overall number of severe cases remains low and is not yet significantly impacting hospitalizations, health officials are urging people to keep their vaccinations up to date.
