  Passengers stranded in Buenos Aires as Conviasa's “rescue flight” returns to Caracas

  

  Hundreds of angry passengers were complaining Thursday at Buenos Aires' international Ezeiza airport as the Conviasa flight they were supposed to board to Caracas was not available, after the Airbus 340-600 purchased from Iran's Mahan Air this week landed in Bolivia and flew back to Venezuela.

  Uruguayan President holds meeting with the Mayor of Buenos Aires

  

  Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou Wednesday welcomed Buenos Aires Mayor Horacio Rodríguez Larreta at the Suárez y Reyes residency, in Montevideo, in a meeting during which they discussed the conditions for “updating and relaunching” Mercosur, to make it a “dynamic, modern, and integrated to the world” bloc.

  Emtrasur scandal: Venezuelan “rescue” airplane lands in Bolivia

  

  An Airbus 340-600 which used to belong to Iran's Mahan Air and has been handed over to Venezuela's Conviasa just this week was en route to Buenos Aires' Ezeiza international airport Wednesday when it was diverted to Bolivia.

  Scioli sworn in as Argentina's Minister of Productive Development

  

  Former Vice President Daniel Scioli was sworn in Wednesday as Argentina's new Minister of Productive Development, following the dismissal of Matías Kulfas earlier this month. Before his new appointment, Scioli was Argentina's Ambassador to Brasilia.

  At a ceremony Tuesday morning held at Staffordshire's National Memorial Arboretum, British prime minister Boris Johnson praised the daring bravery of Veterans, recalling that on the very day, exactly forty years ago, British soldiers entered Stanley and liberated the Falkland Islands from foreign occupation.   Uruguayan Defense Minister to be summoned over 747 case

  

  Uruguayan lawmakers of the opposition Frente Amplio (FA - Broad Front) Tuesday announced they would summon Defense Minister Javier García before Congress' Defense Committee to explain why he had banned from national airspace the Venezuelan-Iranian Boeing 747-300 now held in Buenos Aires.

  Falklands War: end of hostilities, General Menendez surrenders to Major General Jeremy Moore

  

  With the capture of Mount Tumbledown, Wireless Ridge and Sapper Hill the Falkland Islands conflict was effectively over and at 2100 hours on the 14th June 1982 the commander of the Argentine garrison in Stanley, General Mario Menendez, surrendered to Major General Jeremy Moore.
