    Brazil reaches all-time high in oil and gas output

    Petrobras, alone or in consortium with other companies, is responsible for 89.78% of the total oil and natural gas produced

    Brazil surpassed the barrier of 5 million barrels of oil and natural gas produced per day for the first time ever, the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the regulatory agency for the oil and gas industry, announced Monday. The achievement was recorded in July this year, it was also explained.

    Brazil’s richest earning faster

    FiscalData's findings contradicted those of the IBGE

    A study by the research group FiscalData last week found that Brazil's 0.1% richest people (about 160,000 individuals) increased their earnings fivefold faster than average Brazilians between 2017 and 2023. This group's income rose 6.9% against the 1.4% national average. Hence, they went from holding 9.1% of the country's income in 2017 to 12.5% in 2023, the survey found.
