    New Chilean Air Force Chief

    Chilean president Raúl Lagos named this Monday General Osvaldo Sarabia Vilches as the new Commander of the Air Force, replacing General Patricio Ríos who finally resigned last October 13th after a serious confrontation with civilian authorities.

    British parachute wings for Argentine

    An Argentine Army officer, First Lieutenant Caesar Fragni, has been awarded his “wings” by the British Parachute Regiment, one of the elite British units which defeated the Argentine forces in the Falkland Islands in 1982. He is believed to be the first Argentine to earn British parachute wings.

    Vet inspection moves north following the squid

    This season squid moved north out of the Falklands fishery, and so that's why Veterinary Steve Pointing ended in Montevideo making the final inspection round of the Falklands registered vessels prior to their trip to Spain.

    Lan Chile replies to monopoly allegations
