    UK Ambassador in Chile favours more links Falklands/Punta Arenas.

    “There are good possibilities to strengthen trade and tourist relations between Magallanes Region and the Falklands, and transport should be increased further”, said British Ambassador in Chile Gregory Faulkner during an official visit to Punta Arenas where he was also present to welcome the “HMS Dumbarton Castle”.

    Secret Latin America Visit Postponed; Blair's Special Envoy Mystery.

    A newspaper report that the Falkland Islands were to be discussed in top level talks during a mystery mission to several Latin American countries by British Prime Minister Tony Blair's Special envoy, Lord Levy, has been categorically denied by British Government Officials, who ridiculed the report.     'Argentine' boy scores winning goal for French.

    David Trezeguet a 22 year old Frenchman who grew up in Argentina and who speaks fluent Spanish, sealed victory for France in the Euro 2000 soccer championship final in Rotterdam. Trezeguet who came on as a 2nd half substitute, with France the World Champions losing 1-0 against Italy, played a significant part in the dramatic French win. First of all the AS Monaco player headed on the ball to another substitute Sylvain Wiltord who equalised with just seconds remaining in the game.
