  Falklands prepares for the Big Plastic Count, starting next week

  

  Next week (16th-22nd May), Falkland Islands residents should consider taking part in Falkland Conservation’s Big Plastic Count. Inspired by Greenpeace's plastic count in the UK, Falklands Conservation are launching an island-wide survey with the aim of recording all plastic used by Falklands residents in just one week.

The audio series 'Falklands 82: Stories From The South Atlantic' marks 40 years since Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands.

  Limited editions of whisky, rum and gin to commemorate Falklands War and raise funds for SAMA82

  

  DropZone Brewery, a veteran-owned business which supports former servicepeople, has launched three limited-edition spirits to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War and raise funds for charity. All profits from the launch will be donated to the South Atlantic Medal Association 82 (SAMA82), formed by veterans of the Falklands conflict.

  FIMA Funded Falklands 40th Photo Exhibition Moves to Chatham's Historic Dockyard Museum

  

  Last year, FIMA, (Friends of the Falkland Islands' Museum and the Jane Cameron National Archives), agreed to fund the restoration and printing of 40 photographs taken by a Falklands photographer during and in the aftermath of the 1982 war for the Falklands Museum.

  A telescope that once belonged to Rear-Admiral Sir Christopher Craddock has been purchased at auction by the Friends, and will soon be a treasured artifact in the Falklands' museum in Stanley.

  Malvinas Veterans appeal to UN Human Rights Rapporteur, the case on abuses committed by Argentine officers

  

  A grouping of Malvinas Veterans have requested the United Nations to inquire about the delays in Argentina's Judicial branch on the case of torture and human rights abuses by Argentine officers against private soldiers during the 1982 Falklands war.

  FIH 12-month results to April will “significantly exceed” expectations; FIC less affected by pandemic

  

  Financial and stock exchange media in London reported that the Falkland Islands and Britain-focused specialist services provider FIH, said in an update on Tuesday that trading activity was “heading back” to pre-pandemic levels, with its first-half progress continuing in the historically-stronger second half of the year.
