    Argentine Foreign Affairs Secretary Rafael Bielsa said there's “no quick and easy solution to the Malvinas/Falklands question” adding that Argentina must work hard to become “a more consistent country”.

    Argentina complains of too many Falklands fishing permits

    Argentine President Néstor Kirchner told British Prime Minister Tony Blair he intends to continue pursuing claims for sovereignty over the Falkland Islands. He also expressed concern over the large number of fishing permits the Falklands Government issues to third countries, which represents important economic losses for Argentina.

    The British Government has reiterated that there is no question of any change in British policy on Falkland Islands sovereignty. It is British and remains so in accordance with the wishes of the Islanders.

    British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Argentine President Nestor Kirchner met for 25 minutes Sunday evening in Surrey and according to Argentine press reports the Falkland Islands and South Atlantic fisheries, were among several issues addressed by the two leaders.
