    Pfizer vaccine gets emergency authorization for use on children aged 5 to 11 in the US

    This age group should receive one-third of the full vaccine applied to the rest of the population

    The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States Friday issued an emergency clearance for the use of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine against COVID-19 on children aged 5 to 11, it was announced. The decision came three days after a recommendation from a scientific committee.

    The team headed by Kit Hamley also extended its research into the warrah (Dusicyon australis), an extinct species of fox. The warrah was the only native and terrestrial mammal to reside on the Falkland Islands at the time of European arrival. Subsequent hunting wiped the species out in 1856, making it the first extinct canid in the historic record, Hamley says.
