    Italy's iconic Amerigo Vespucci ship arrives in Montevideo

    Visitors may tour the 1931 ship provided they register at the Italian Embassy's website

    Italian Navy's training ship Amerigo Vespucci docked Thursday in Montevideo and will welcome visitors Friday, it was reported from the Uruguayan capital. The iconic vessel, built in 1931, is making her second round-the-world trip after setting sail from Genoa in July. Her next call will be Buenos Aires.

    Brazil and Argentina agree on reciprocal open skies policy

    The governments of Brazil and Argentina agreed this week to a reciprocal open skies policy, Itamaraty Palace sources in Brasilia confirmed. Under the new legal frame, there will be no restrictions to carriers -both passenger and cargo- to open as many routes as they wish.

    The European Media Freedom Act passed by the European Parliament  is designed to protect the editorial independence and journalistic sources across the European Union. States will also have to spend publicity expenditure using “public, proportionate and non-discriminatory criteria.”

    The hotline Crimestoppers was launched following a series of scandals, which resulted in 728 Met Police-led investigations.
