    Paraguayan President Santiago Peña confirmed Wednesday in Buenos Aires that his country would be relocating its Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. During his appearance at a World Jewish Congress event in the Argentine capital, Peña confirmed that Paraguay “will once again move its embassy to Jerusalem, capital of the State of Israel,” one of Paraguay's strategic allies. Following Peña's decision, Israel would be reopening its mission in Asunción. Paraguay has had its embassy moved to Jerusalem once but backtracked on its decision citing political inconveniences.

    A most rare whale was found beached in New Zealand near a river estuary in the province of Otago last week. Classified as spade-toothed, little is known about the cetacean, where they live in the vast Pacific, what they eat and much less how many they are, because virtually no sightings have ever been recorded.

    French international rugby players Hugo Auradou, 20, and Oscar Jegou, 21, who have been arrested in the Argentine province of Mendoza to face rape charges, spent the weekend separated from each other incommunicado before being transferred to another detention facility. For the time being, visitors are not allowed except for their legal teams after being formally charged Friday with “the crime of sexual assault with penetration, aggravated by the participation of two people.” A 39-year-old woman accused them of raping her multiple times and beating her in a Mendoza hotel room after a rugby match on July 7. The defendants claim it was consensual sex. If found guilty, they face between eight and 20 years in prison.
