  Falklands appoints 14 November as a Public Holiday, to celebrate birthday of King Charles III

  

  The Falkland Islands Executive Council have approved the appointment of 14 November as a Public Holiday in celebration of the birthday of His Majesty King Charles III. This will replace the public holiday previously held on 21 April in celebration of the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

  Falklands' Rockhopper 200 million Euros award ruling which Italy is working to annul

  

  Falkland Islands-linked Rockhopper Exploration said that Italy was working to annul the August ruling by an arbitration panel under which Italy has to pay 200 million Euros, plus interest, to Rockhopper for breaching its obligations related to the company's Ombrina Mare field in the Adriatic Sea.

  First 50p coins with King Charles III portrait will be circulating next December

  

  Britain's 50p coin has started to be struck at The Royal Mint in Llantrisant, Wales, and will enter tills, wallets and purses in December, reports BBC.   Bank of England begins QE “tightening”; first successful sale of £750 million bonds

  

  The Bank of England sold on Tuesday £750 million worth of UK government bonds from its quantitative easing stockpile. It was the first Western central bank to do so and received a solid demand from investors at its first auction to sell government bonds from its £838 billion pound quantitative easing portfolio.
