    Just one day after being reported to be “out of critical condition,” Pope Francis had an isolated bronchospasm crisis worsening his overall respiratory state. He has completed a fortnight at Rome's Gemelli clinic, where he had been admitted on Feb. 14 for bronchitis with a polymicrobial infection and bilateral pneumonia. Despite Friday's episode, the Argentine-born Pope remained lucid and cooperative. Vatican sources confirmed Francis, 88, would not preside over the Ash Wednesday rite on March 5.

Trump insisted his guest was not ready to negotiate peace with Russian President Vladimir Putin and ended up ejecting the Ukrainian delegation from the Oval Office. In a later posting on social media, Trump said the former comedian could return when he was ready for peace.

    Paraguay passes EU beef production standards review

    Paraguay's National Animal Health and Quality Service (Senacsa) confirmed this week that the European Union's (EU) Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG Sante) has satisfactorily concluded an audit of the South American country's beef production. Conducted in September 2024, the audit evaluated official controls and certification systems, including checks on pharmacologically active substances, pesticides, and contaminants.

    Israel and the terrorist group Hamas Tuesday agreed in principle to further exchange Palestinian prison inmates for the bodies of four Israeli hostages as part of the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire, mediated by Egypt. The deal follows tensions over delayed releases and Hamas’s public handling of hostage handovers, which Israel dubbed as humiliating, particularly in the case of a body “mistakenly” passed on as that of dual Argentine national Shiri Bibas, who was murdered alongside her two children Ariel and Kfir.

    Falklands, Eleven Veterans complete kayak and trek expedition to honor lost friends

    A team of veterans have completed an expedition to commemorate fallen comrades of the Falklands War. Former Royal Marine Tom Rendell, from Bristol, has led 11 men as they follow different actions the 3 Commando Brigade made during 1982 - from landing to freeing the capital Stanley.
