  Strong message from Merkel to Macri: How the world sees and expects Argentina to perform

  

  She was the last to arrive, but together with French president Emmanuel Macron one of the most popular leaders during the G20 summit in Buenos Aires. Her official aircraft had to turn back because of communications problems so German Chancellor Angela Merkel took a commercial flight from Madrid directly to Buenos Aires, a day late for the inauguration but not for the other activities including a couple of outings in the Argentine capital.

  IDB US$ 130m loan to modernize Argentine-Uruguayan bi-national Salto Grande dam and power plant

  

  The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved two financing packages worth a total of US$ 130 million in support of a program to modernize the Argentine-Uruguayan bi-national hydroelectric power plant in Salto Grande and a program to boost the competitiveness of the productive and tourism sectors of that region, made up of the departments of Concordia and Federacion in the Argentine province of Entre Ríos and Salto department in Uruguay.

  France fines P&O Azura US$ 110.000 for using fuel with a high content of sulfur

  

  A court in Marseille fined an American master mariner US$ 110,000 for using fuel with a sulfur content measuring 0.18 percentage points above a disputed limit. It is the first ruling of its kind in France, and it is contrary to the French government's previous stance on sulfur content rules for cruise ships.
