    Argentina's National Institute of Seismic Prevention (INPRES) recorded an earthquake rated at 3.8 on the Richter scale at 10.27 am Friday in the city of Buenos Aires and its surroundings, it was reported.

    A few minutes before midnight Friday, Buenos Aires time, a Royal Air Force transport with Prime Minister Theresa May landed at Ezeiza airport. Mrs May is the first serving UK prime minister to visit the capital Buenos Aires, and the second to travel to Argentina, after Tony Blair in 2001.

    Donald Trump and his wife leave the Air Force One behind at Buenos  Aires' Ezeiza airport.

    The famous Air Force One, a veritable Flying White House, landed in Ezeiza at 10.10 pm amid tight security measures right on time for US President Donald Trump to rest and get ready for Friday's breakfast meeting with his Argentine colleague Mauricio Macri.

    Macron has busy pre G-20 Thursday in BA after sloppy airport welcome

    The two heads of state gave a press conference during which they praised each other.

    His presidential plane landed at Buenos Aires' international Ezeiza airport for the G-20 Summit Wednesday night. After parking, France's Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte went down the stairs to greet .... a tarmac worker or two, after which the pair kept walking to their car. Right before getting inside, they were told to go back on their steps and meet Argentine Vicepresident Gabriela Michetti for the official welcome that almost did not happen.

    Falklands voice dismay and praise for second commercial flight

    MLA Roger Spink admitted ”everybody is concerned when you have something that goes via Argentina...that’s why you have these agreements.”

    The proposed second airline service between the Falklands and South America with a once a month stopover in Argentina, drew both strongly voiced concerns and praise at a public meeting held on Wednesday evening in Stanley. Worried citizens suggested Argentina might manipulate Islanders by threatening to interrupt the link to Sao Paulo, Brazil in the longer term.

    Cannabis-based meds plant opens in Uruguay

    Uruguay was the first country to legalize marijuana in 2013. The legal sale of marijuana for recreational purposes began in July, 2017.

    ICC Labs Inc., a subsidiary of Canada’s Aurora Cannabis Inc., opened Wednesday in Montevideo and became the subcontinent's first producer of cannabis-derived pharmaceuticals with a capacity “to supply almost the entire South American continent,” according to the company's CEO Alejandro Antalich.
