  Right-wing President-elect Jair Bolsonaro vowed in a tweet on Thursday to investigate Brazil’s state-run national development bank, BNDES, for corruption by opening its “black box” of secret transactions. BNDES is the largest development lender in the Americas with a loan book larger than the World Bank’s.

  Brexit and Article 50 to be referred to the European Court of Justice

  

  The European Court of Justice will be asked if the UK can unilaterally stop Brexit after the UK Government was refused an appeal by Scotland’s highest court. The Court of Session in Edinburgh ruled in September to refer the question of whether the UK can unilaterally revoke its Article 50 request to leave the European Union to the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU) after a case brought by a cross-party group of politicians.

  China exports and surplus remain strong while imports started to pick up

  

  China reported much stronger-than-expected exports for October as shippers rushed goods to the United States, its biggest trading partner, racing to beat higher tariff rates due to kick in at the start of next year.   Falklands' toothfish fishery re-certified by the Marine Stewardship Council

  

  The Falkland Islands longline toothfish fishery has been re-certified under the Marine Stewardship Council’s Principles of Sustainability, it was announced this week.The fishery, which was originally certified in 2014 for a five year period, is the only Falkland Islands fishery to be certified under the scheme.
