  Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced Monday that he would nominate Justice Minister Flávio Dino to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Federal Court (STF) left by then-Chief Justice Rosa Weber, who reached mandatory retirement age last month.

  Hamas releases six Argentine hostages

  

  Six Argentine nationals were among the 11 hostages released Monday by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas with assistance from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in another exchange with Israel for 30 prison inmates held by Tel Aviv. The humanitarian ceasefire for further swaps has been extended for another 48 hours, it was also reported.

  Brazil currently the chair of Mercosur has opened a consultation period until December 18 on a possible trade agreement between the South American block and the United Arab Emirates. The idea is to reach and listen to the private sector, scholars, civil society, academics and other interested parties.
