  German election turns into a Trump bashing exercise for “weakening the West”

  

  Germany's top politicians have stepped up criticism of US President Donald Trump, a day after Chancellor Angela Merkel said the US and UK were no longer reliable partners. On Monday Mrs Merkel said it was right not to gloss over differences with the US, while her foreign minister said Mr. Trump's actions “weakened the West”.

  Faurie new Argentine foreign minister; Malcorra resigns for family reasons but will remain as advisor

  

  Argentine Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra resigned on Monday and will move to Madrid to be closer to her family, President Mauricio Macri announced. Argentina's ambassador to France, Jorge Faurie, will be the new foreign minister and Malcorra will continue as an adviser to the government from afar.

  British police made two more arrests and stormed three more locations Sunday as they hunted for suspects in the Manchester bombing, while a government minister said members of attacker Salman Abedi's network may still be at large.

  Malvinas Veterans acclaimed as they parade in Buenos Aires

  

  Hundreds of Malvinas veterans were applauded and acclaimed as they marched through Buenos Aires on Friday May 27th as part of the May Revolution 207 anniversary commemorations. Veterans closed the traditional military parade along two kilometers, which this year assembled 6.000 troops from all branches plus an air pass of aircraft and helicopters.

  British Airways disruption as it tries to overcome impact of worldwide computer system crash

  

  British Airways passengers were facing on Sunday a third day of disruption at Heathrow as the airline deals with the impact of a worldwide computer system crash. BA says it aims to operate a full long-haul schedule and a “high proportion” of short-haul services after the outage caused by a power failure.

  British Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn attempted to head off potential Conservative attacks on his patriotism as he promised to be “strong against terrorism and strong against the causes of terrorism” after the Manchester attack. Corbyn said Monday’s suicide bombing cannot be ignored as General Election campaigning resumes but called for “quality” debate “without impugning anyone’s patriotism”.

  Armed police patrolling UK trains and rail network

  

  Armed police officers are patrolling on board trains in the United Kingdom for the first time. British Transport Police (BTP) announced the measure in a bid to “disrupt and deter criminal activity” on the rail network after the UK terror threat level rose to critical in the wake of the Manchester attack.
