  Close friends and loyalists considered for the Trump cabinet

  

  Now that Donald Trump will be moving to the White House next January, speculation about the names being considered for his cabinet have started to emerge. According to sources close to the winning team some of the names included are Rudy Giuliani for attorney general, Newt Gingrich for secretary of state, retired Lt. Gen Michael Flynn for defense secretary or national security adviser, Trump finance chairman Steve Mnuchin for Treasury secretary, and Republican National Committee finance chair Lew Eisenberg for commerce secretary.

  The Republican Party has retained its majority in the US House of Representatives, projections suggest early Wednesday. The TV networks ABC and NBC both projected a Republican majority in the 435-seat chamber, which the party has controlled since 2010.

  Something is happening in China: new Finance and State Security ministers

  

  China appointed a new finance minister on Monday who is expected to maintain an expansionary fiscal policy and push reforms to put a lid on rising debt levels in the economy. Xiao Jie, a former tax chief and Minister of Finance deputy minister, was named minister of finance, the official Xinhua news agency said on Monday.

  Argentina's Lower House left its peers from the Mercosur Parliament, Parlasur, with no allowances, despite claims from most of its 43 members. Last week the Chamber of Deputies approved the Argentine budget which must now be considered by the Senate.

  Latam/BA/Iberia deal questioned by Brazil´s competition regulator

  

  Brazil's competition regulator Cade said on Monday that a deal between LATAM Airlines LAN.SN, British Airways and Iberia could have a negative impact on routes between Brazil and Europe. Chile-headquartered LATAM signed joint business agreements in January to deepen its ties with American Airlines Group and IAG's British Airways and Iberia, all members of the Oneworld Alliance.
