    Combined exercise, sea, air and infantry landing, in the Falkland Islands

    As HMS Forth made her way towards Weddell, the RAF’s A400M provided reconnaissance, confirming the route was clear for the ship to dispatch her Pacific 24 sea boats to put the Riflemen ashore. BFSAI

    HMS Forth joined the Army and RAF in a combined exercise in one of the islands in the Falklands. After a busy ‘remembrance season’ in the South Atlantic, which saw the patrol ship retrace the route of ships and troops involved in the 1982 conflict, the second-generation River-class vessel knuckled down to more regular military duties.

    RAF renewing air transport fleet: in 2014 begins incorporation of A400M Atlas

    The Royal Air Force next generation military transport aircraft has been officially named as Atlas. The aircraft, which has until now been known as the A400M, will replace the RAF’s existing C130 Hercules fleet and along with the Voyager and C-17 will provide the UK military’s future air transport force.
