  Major Spanish renewable energy group Abengoa files for insolvency

  

  Spain's renewable energy group Abengoa SA filed for insolvency late on Monday, after its latest attempt to restructure its debts fell apart. The parent company of the renewable-energy producer, which is the entity that filed for insolvency, had around 1 billion Euros of liabilities in 2019.

  Montevideo to build a 1.000 meter-pier and storage facilities for fishing industry

  

  Spanish engineering and renewable energy company Abengoa announced it has won a contract to build a new fishing terminal in the port of Montevideo, Uruguay, a contract worth 81 million Euros ($93 million). The terminal will be constructed in Capurro, a district in Montevideo helping to expand the port's capacity, Abengoa said.

  Uruguay's FDI equivalent to 5% of GDP and mostly in alternative energies, said Eclac report

  

  Foreign direct investment in Uruguay totaled 2.79bn dollars last year, which is slightly higher than the 2.68bn of 2012, equivalent to 5% of GDP, according to the latest report on FDI for the region from the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
