  Caribbean states join Mercosur in barring Falklands’ flagged vessels from their ports

  

  Several Caribbean states and Nicaragua announced this weakened they will bar from their ports any vessel flying the Malvinas flag, according to a release from the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  ALBA summit takes off celebrating a frustrated 1992 military coup by Chavez

  

  Cuban president Raul Castro arrived on Friday to Caracas for the XI summit of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of America, ALBA, and to participate in the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the frustrated military coup by then a young Lieutenant Colonel Hugo Chavez, currently Venezuelan president.

  Chavez marks “true-independence” with impressive military and militias’ parade

  

  Venezuela kicked off celebrations marking 200 years of struggle for independence with an impressive several hour long military parade. Recently-acquired Chinese K-8 planes and Russian Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft swooped through the sky during a lavish military parade in Caracas, as soldiers from Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Cuba, Libya, Nicaragua and Russia joined those on the ground.
