  Chile and Argentina working on an energy, gas and power, swap deal

  

  Chile expects to close an energy swap deal with Argentina in the days ahead, Chilean Energy Minister Andres Rebolledo said in an interview Thursday. The neighboring nations are also negotiating the locations for five additional transmission line interconnection points, with an agreement expected as early as January, the minister revealed.

  As of next May first, 90% of Pacific Alliance trade will be free of tariffs

  

  The Pacific Alliance Additional Protocol becomes effective next May first, which means 90% of trade between Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico will be free of tariffs, while the remaining will be subject to gradual tariff liberation chronogram, according to Andres Rebolledo, head of Chile's International Economic Relations Department, Direcon.

  Chile convinced of the Mercosur/Pacific Alliance 'convergence' led by Brazil
