Argentine politician and former Formula One car racing driver Carlos Alberto Reutemann has passed away Wednesday at the age of 79 in his native city of Santa Fe.
The Argentine government sponsored whitewashing or ‘tax amnesty’ bill received half approval on Wednesday when the Senate passed the initiative by 39 to 28 votes, a bill which the opposition has labelled ‘immoral’. After seven hours of debate and over twenty speakers the line was clearly drawn between the Kirchnerite group and its allies and the rest of the House.

A leading and respected Argentine Senator forecasted he is certain that President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner will be seeking re-election in the October presidential elections, and assured that her recent clash with the organized labour CGT unions’ umbrella are “nothing but mere disagreements.”
According to new Wikileaks cables unveiled by Spanish daily El Pais, Argetnina’s former Santa Fe governor Carlos Reutemann told US diplomats that “whoever comes after the Kirchner administrations will inherit a mine field” instead of a country.
Argentina’s main opposition group the so called “Federal Peronism”, dissidents from the ruling movement admitted going through a serious “crisis” because of the diverging opinions amongst its leaders, several of them 2011 presidential hopefuls.
