  New Falklands port gets green light to proceed as part of ambitious infrastructure investment program

  

  Last Friday 10 September 2021, the Falkland Islands port project received ExCo (Executive Council) approval to proceed to Stage One B, Detailed Design, which will take place over the next 13 months. Stage One A began in July 2020 and involved an extensive series of stakeholder workshops, surveys, demand studies and environmental assessments in order to produce the initial Concept Design for the new facility.

  Falklands new port: advance team of construction company arrives in Stanley

  

  An advance team from BAM Nuttall Ltd that will design and build a new port in the Falkland Islands arrived this week in Stanley and is complying with their 14-day quarantine, ahead of their extensive stakeholder engagement program, which is scheduled to begin in the first two weeks of next month.

  Falklands' new port works scheduled to begin at the end of the month

  

  British contractor BAM Nuttall is set to start work at the end of this month on a new port for the Falklands Islands. The existing facilities will be replaced. BAM Nuttall was chosen by the Falkland Islands Government (FIG) in February to carry out the design and build contract for the new port. The contract was signed in early April but was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

  The Falkland Islands Government announced on Monday that it has completed and signed a contract with BAM Nuttall for the design and build of a new port in Stanley Harbor.

  Falklands will have a new port in three/four years; FIG can afford the “indicative pricing”

  

  The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) last week announced that it has chosen BAM-Nutall as its development partner to build a new port with a lifetime of fifty years. This week more details of the major project, to be developed in three stages and which is expected to be completed in three/four years were revealed by members of the local government.

  Falklands names new Director of Development and Commercial Services

  

  The Falkland Islands Government has announced the appointment of Catherine Silva Donayre as the new Director of Development and Commercial Services when the current Director, Ian Robertson, leaves in June 2020.
