    Yesterday Colombia, now Venezuela closes border with Brazil

    Venezuela first closed its border with Colombia and now with Brazil to avoid money trafficking

    The government of President Nicolas Maduro government closed the border with Brazil for 72 hours for the same reason it had taken the same measure with Colombia: money smuggling, Brazilian local authorities and residents of southern Venezuela who routinely cross to Brazil where they can make transactions in bolivars confirmed.

    Colombia was one vote short in OAS to address the border crisis with Venezuela

    Five countries voted against the request: Venezuela and its regional allies Bolivia, Nicaragua and Ecuador. Brazil and Argentina abstained from voting.

    Colombia on Monday was one vote short at the Organization of American States to summon a meeting of foreign ministers over the ongoing border crisis with Venezuela. Bogotá had requested the high-level meeting up as the country is seeking international support for an ongoing diplomatic crisis with its socialist neighbor.

    Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro escalated his country's conflict with Colombia Friday by expanding the partial closure of their shared border to four new frontier towns. However most political analysts believe there is a huge premeditated interest in arising strong nationalistic feelings ahead of the December legislative elections.
